February Parent Communication Blog March 9th is the District Band Assessment! Reminder: Only CLEAR water bottles with CLEAR water inside are allowed in school! Homework/News from Teachers Jones:  Advanced Science- The Matter Scavenger Hunt was due on Friday.  Be sure that you have submitted your final product through Google Classroom. Life Science- Quiz on Protists and Fungi next week. Hall: Perry LA+:  Students should read for 20 minutes each night.  2/13: Finish at least one page of your draft and write five questions a reader may have about your writing (like we practiced in class on 2/13). This is homework, due Tuesday, 2/18.  2/20: Students should have more than one handwritten page of their draft, with elaboration techniques underlined or highlighted (like we practiced on 2/18 & 2/19). 3rd Quarter IR Projects are due Wednesday, Mar. 26th. News & Updates The midterm for the 2nd Trimester (EA/PE classes only) is Jan. 22nd. The 2nd Quarter ends on Jan. 23rd. Students should check grades and complete missing/make up work ASAP! 2nd Quarter report cards and 2nd Trimester midterms will be issued on Jan. 30th. The SCA Valentine's Day Semi-formal will be Friday, Feb. 7th! Homework/News from Teachers Jones:  Advanced Science- Study for student growth assessment this week.. Life Science- Study notes on classification this week. Hall: Perry LA+:  Students should read for 20 minutes each night. Students should finish The Giver  by Wednesday, Jan. 22nd. Students were asked to take the book home over the long weekend if they were not on track to finish on time. An opportunity for extra credit will be posted on Google Classroom. News & Updates Oyster Festival Education Day is Thursday, October 31st. Because of the field trip, 7th graders should not wear costumes that day. Students should wear closed-toed shoes and bring a jacket or sweatshirt because it can be cool near the water.   Signed permission slips should have been returned by Tuesday, 10/29. There is no school on Friday, November 1st. Tuesday, November 5th is the end of the first Quarter!  Look for Report Cards to come home on November 12th.     Homework/News from Teachers Jones: Advanced Science- We have begun a new unit on DNA and Heredity.  Study your notes. Life Science- Study plant cell structures and organelles.  Be able to compare   and contrast plant cells and animal cells.
